Dr. Suzanne Jaffe Walters holds a BA from Brandeis University, Waltham, MA, where she lettered in both swimming and tennis, and graduated in 3 years. She moved to NYC where she received a MS in Biochemical Nutrition from Columbia University. She received her medical degree from MCP-Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and stayed on to complete her Residency at MCP- Hahnemann as well. She then went on to complete fellowships in Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Medicine at Harvard’s Boston Children’s Hospital, and Pediatric Orthopaedics at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Walters is board certified in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, and formerly served as the Director of Sports Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center. She has co-authored articles in her field, served as speaker in numerous symposiums, and is a member of the esteemed ROCK (Research in OsteoChondritis of the Knee) study group. Dr. Walters has over 10 years of experience taking care of athletes of all ages and has a particular interest in taking care of the young athlete. She specializes in minimally invasive techniques in both the knee and shoulder. She is conservative in her approach, treating nonsurgical and surgical issues, and strives to educate her patients and their parents so that informed decisions can be made. Dr. Walters maintains her own rigorous sports schedule, as well as that of her two young daughters. She continues to compete as a Masters swimmer and enjoys watching from the sidelines as her daughters compete in both swimming and tennis.
