Dr. Silveri is an orthopedic and neurosurgical spinal surgeon who specializes in the nonoperative and operative treatment of spinal disorders. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He serves as an investigator for new osteo-biologic bone graft advances in spinal surgery, and has trained surgeons nationwide in FDA approved disc replacement technology. Currently, he participates as lead investigator and designer of new instrumentation technology for the spine including cervical spine instrumentation.

Dr. Silveri treats all problems related to spinal disorders. These include neck, back, arm and leg pain, numbness, degenerative arthritis of the spine, disc problems, fractures and other spinal trauma, pinched nerves or other nerve injuries. Adult deformity of the spine, infections, and cancer related illnesses are also treated within his practice. Dr. Silveri treats adults as well as adolescents and provides complex reconstructive care for those who have previously undergone surgery as well.

After completing his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University with honors, he graduated from the University Of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1989 where he received the departmental award for excellent and orthopaedic surgery. He completed a Fellowship Year Specializing in Neurosurgical Spinal Surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Silveri completed his formal orthopaedic surgical residency training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. He also completed a subsequent year in Reconstructive Spine and Scoliosis Surgery Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Silveri has served as an associate clinical professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Georgetown University as well as a clinical instructor with George Washington University Medical Center Department of Orthopaedics. He is past chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery for Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. Over the last 6 years Dr. Silveri has been the director of the INOVA Spine Institute at Fair Oaks Hospital. Under his leadership the hospital has achieved excellent in the treatment of cervical and lumbar spinal disorders and has received accreditation by the joint commission as a Center of excellence in spinal surgery. Dr. Silveri is a member of the North American Spine Society, the Medical Society of Virginia, and the Fairfax County medical Society. He currently has privileges at Inova Fair Oaks and Fairfax hospitals, Reston Hospital Center, and performs outpatient surgeries at the Advanced Surgery Center of Bethesda and the Northern Virginia Surgery Center.

Dr. Silveri has numerous publications and has authored a textbook on spinal trauma. He is an editor on Spine Universe.com, a website created to educate and inform both the layperson and professional on topics related to the spine. He remains one of the region’s top spinal surgeons, with past inclusions in the Washingtonian magazine, Cambridge Who’s Who list of professionals, and the Consumer Research guide to America’s top orthopaedic surgeons.
